PDF typeable input

@All

I needed to create a input typeable PDF and Adobe Acrobat 6 at $449
is a bit out of my price range of low cost or free. I came upon a
a program "PDFill" and gave it a try. It's free but leaves a water
mark on each printed document, but for $9.99 registration it's
removed. http://www.pdfill.com/ I tried it out on various PDF's
with no input fields and it seems easy to use. I created general
inputs for PDFs I use frequently. It's well worth the labor saving time
and sure makes life easier. :) See what you think.

Does somebody tell me why is better .pdfs that .docs?

rds_correia 12-05-2004 08:41 AM

@Prodater64
Lightweight readers and data portability to all OSs such as Handheld PCs not based in WinCE are the basic pro's.
You see, some PCs are not running Windowze with Winword ;-)
@BP
If you're fed up with M$ Office due to it's lazyness and are willing to try a new free platform that delivers almost the same, do try OpenOffice.org.
It's Sun's StarOffice but free.
Let's say that OO.org stands for Mozilla FireFox and that StarOffice stands for regular Mozilla.
The speed improovement when compared to the latest M$ Office is really cool and it that works like a charm.
Plus, all the tools are able to create a PDF with a single mouse click.
Though, it is not able to edit an already made PDF :(
Cheers

@rds_correia,

Found "PDFCreator" at http://www.mrbass.org/ that can take
a file and convert it PDF. Even a scanned image file. I scanned
a form into PDFCreator to create a PDF file. Then used PDFill to
convert it with typable input fields. WOW!! I wish the two programs
were combined into one. What a powerful combination. 8)

Ironically Sun used to give Staroffice away for free and no one wanted it. Its more popular now that you have to pay for it,

Cheers,
