Edward Felten (well known by RIAA ;) ) created smallest P2P "app" that contains 15 lines of code. Easy, ... not to share large DVD blockbusters, put to proof that none of MPAA,RIAA&CO can stop file share over internet by watching all P2P networks.
Felten is know of proving in 2001 that RIAAs e-watermarks are useles, after invitation for test by this organization.

I'm not too keen on p2p networks.
That is I'm not a regular user but I don't condemn those who use it and don't brake the law.
But nevertheless it looks very funny.
What? The RIAA is actually doing watch on p2p networks?
Are they crazy?
I am told that anybody with relative coding skills can create their own p2p network.
Now how the hell do they intend to watch every network :?: :lol:

They do not intent to survey all P2P. They just focus on the three most important ones of the moment : fastrack (kazaa - DLed millions of time at each version), ed2k (emule and edonkey) and the most famous current protocol, bittorrent (90% percent of the bandwith used on some node :!: :!:)

Torrents are running there all the time, but untraceable :!:
So are forums, and websites. It's an anonymous network "inside" the intenet.

I2P is an anonymous network, exposing a simple layer that applications can use to anonymously and securely send messages to each other. The network itself is strictly message based (ala IP), but there is a library available to allow reliable streaming communication on top of it (ala TCP). All communication is end to end encrypted (in total there are four layers of encryption used when sending a message), and even the end points ("destinations") are cryptographic identifiers (essentially a pair of public keys).
