Question about Nero Express 5.5 ?

@anyone,

I have a PC with W2K Pro and Nero Express 5.5. I also, have installed a
DVD burner and CD burner. I was able to backup a CD with
Nero. The source being DVDRW and destination being CDRW. Lately Nero
was not picking up the CDRW drive and displayed "Image Record
CD\CD-RW" as the destination. I checked the CDRW drive and it was bad.
After replacing this drive, Nero still uses "Image Record" file
destination. What's happening to Nero The CD disc is being properly
read by both DVD and CD burners using Windows Explorer. Anyone got
any ideas how to get Nero to work

Can you use "Nero InfoTool" (delivered with Nero, in the "Nero Toolkit"), see if it recongnize the burner, and if yes see if a programm is using it.
You can have a software that locks the access to the burner (In-CD for instance - even if that is a Nero's tool !)

Thanks Phil, I re-installed Nero and got the same problem. I also had
installed DiscMaster 2.5 CD/DVD burner. It seems the two were conflicting.
I like DiscMaster since it does both CD and DVD functions in one program.
It also can write data to a DVD-5 and I couldn't get Nero to do this. But
some software programs call Nero to perform burn functions, so I guess
I'll keep it for now.

Use Nero 6. It does it with no problem.
