Converting from FAT32 to NTFS will network share be affected

Hi Guys,

I want to convert my Data partition to NTFS so that I could have files larger than 4Gb making DVD images that I back up.

I was worried though as I usually share one folder on this partition as sometimes I do my video conversions on another pc then transfer it to my main PC which has the DVD burner on it.

I know that NTFS is more security concious than FAT32, so will my folder still be shared or do I have to do anything special to make it shared on the network?

Both of my PC run Windows XP Pro.

Thanks in advance guys.

You can share any folder, just by "right-click/properties/sharing" :)

Thanks for the info Karl, so my folder that is currently being shared will be un-affected by the conversion?

If so then do you recommend I convert to NTFS?

I recommend you to convert it.
Big files, so much as you want, is a good handicap when A+V encoding.
