Your right :oops: It's vendor locked :evil: I did some reading about UTStarcom F1000 and there are some issues with this WiFi phone such as battery life, configuration difficulties, and voice quality. Althought it's the latest in VOIP wifi phones, eventually as these phones become popular the price will drop to under $100. Philadelphia, is going WiFi in early 2007 with a subscription of $20 monthly. Cell phone users will really have great savings with this service. Earthlink is the Wifi ISP provider and plans to offer WiFi voip phones at a low price to jump start this service. I will settle for the time being with the Grandstream HoneyTone 486 ATA for use in my home. :) -BP |
