Vonage WiFi Phone offer

@Kwag,

This seems interesting:

http://www.vonage.com/device.php?type=F1000

The F1000 voip wifi phone is $79 after $50 rebate 8O You can get this offer
with their $14.99 (500 min) or $24.99 (unlimited) plans. The phone is yours
after 90 days (3 months) if you cancel and it's open for re-programming to
any VOIP service you want. :wink:

@kwag,

Your right :oops: It's vendor locked :evil:

I did some reading about UTStarcom F1000 and there are some issues
with this WiFi phone such as battery life, configuration difficulties, and
voice quality. Althought it's the latest in VOIP wifi phones, eventually as
these phones become popular the price will drop to under $100. Philadelphia,
is going WiFi in early 2007 with a subscription of $20 monthly. Cell phone
users will really have great savings with this service. Earthlink is the
Wifi ISP provider and plans to offer WiFi voip phones at a low price to
jump start this service. I will settle for the time being with the Grandstream
HoneyTone 486 ATA for use in my home. :)
