@All,

I want a used laptop for my son that will play KVCD-LBR. He has a
limited buget (~ $100 to $150) and wants to use it for playing
movies at work for entertainment. I figure at least PII 266mhz with
128 ram, CD rom, diskette drive, 13.1" screen and a hard drive of
6 gig with windows 98SE, and runs off of battery eliminator. I need some
suggestions for good used brands, models, etc. we could start
looking at. I looked at Dell Inspiron 3200, but there were bad comments
about it on Google. Give me some ideas and where to buy (e.g. EBay)

Thanks

Hi black pronce,

I was going to suggest EBay, but you already mentioned it .
I think it's the best place to look. I've had very good experiences buying from EBay.

@Kwag,

I used EBay and searched for "Dell parts" under Laptops. I bought a
base (just has some memory, cpu, keyboard, monitor). The missing
hard drive, cd rom, battery eliminator, etc. I got from other parts
sales. I combine these with the base computer and the whole
system cost me about $130 including shipping. It's a Dell Inspiron 3200
PII 266mhz, 96mb ram, display 13.1", hard drive 2.6GB,16X cd rom,
battery eliminator, etc. I used Win 98SE as the OS and Zoomplayer to
play KVCDx3 (instead of KVCD-LBR) backups.

Thanks
