A few years ago, I put together a box for the middle daughter when she started college.
A 400Mhz Pent. on an Abit board.
About the only thing I had to do since, was put a Lite-On burner in it, (got MUCH cheaper) and
upgrade the memory. (also MUCH cheaper)
She`s in Med school now, and she still loves it! (she calls it "Baby Girl", JEEEEEZ... )

She HAS been complainin` about how slow the printer is though...
(MMMMMMMM...another Birthday present hint???..$ $ )

They haven’t release much information on Athlon64 but they released AMD Opteron which basically is its brother (I think the only difference is Opteron is design with MP technology). They also release information on the chipset for the processor a long time ago, it’s on this website http://www.hypertransport.org. I heard a lot of good things from Opteron mainly from here http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030422/index.html so I think AMD Athlon64 is going to be great.

P.S. Athlon64 has 1mb L2 cache and 800 MHZ FSB.

AMD claims it`s gonna` kick all heck outta` anything that Intel has now.
I hope it does...that will get the "CPU Wars" going again in High Gear...
and that can only drop prices further!...

But so far, it`s only been something of a "Paper Tiger"...can`t wait till it get`s distributed,
so we can really see it`s teeth!...
