CPUs: P4 2.4c 800mhz fsb with hyperthreading

P4 2.4c 800mhz fsb with hyperthreading
Abit IS7 board and Kingston HyperX PC 3500 DDR 443 memory.

I hope to get this baby up to 3ghz OC'ed with this board. We'll see how my encoding times fair.

Hey, let me know if you can OC it to 3Ghz ;)

Well I'm overclocking now and running memtestx86 to zero on a stable system. So far it looks like I will be able to get slightly over 3ghz on air with good temps.

If anyone is reading this and wants details on encoding benchmarks and such with the optimal scripts let me know otherwise I won't waste time collecting data.

I'll tell you one thing though I ran some benchmarks with the latest optimal script at stock 2.4 ghz 800mhz fsb speeds and with HyperThreading turned on I got a 30% increase in encoding time compared to having HT turned off.

This was with a 2:06minute DVD rip 100% progressive sample using today's optimal script.

Well, now you have yourself a little 3Ghz microwave oven close to you
Make sure that if you run the computer without good grounding and with the case open, that you wear one of these for your protection against radiation   http://www.arrakis.es/~jmselva/

LOL :D

Well I've got it stable at 3.15ghz. I ran memtestx86 and prim95 torture test and everything is working properly.

Temps are a little high, but no big deal.

92 minute movie took about 1 hour and 45 to 1:50 to encode with the latest MA script. 8O

8O that's fast :!: i've never heard of the encoding time be less than the movie time itself :!: 8O

I bought a 2.4c last September and it has been running at 3.5GHz pretty much since. Best of all its pretty much at default voltage and air cooled.

Runs at 3.63Ghz with 1.65v but wont pass Prime95 torture and temps get way above 55c.

at 3.5Ghz my temps are about 35-45c max

so that's really really fast...and i want to steal your computer.
