First off I want to use a bootable cd based linux(knoppix) and try to get OSX and my PC. The thing is I can't find any drivers for earthier OS, I was just wondering if my computer will work....I know that on I ran Linux before on my old computer w/o any drivers and ran fine, but I don't know if OSX will support AMD processors....I recall it couldn't support X86 or something like that with the old OS but since OSX now is very similar to Linux I thought I would ask.

Sorry if I didn't make much sense to you, cause I never wanted to look into other OS's, but now on my 4 major bug with windows XP, but since that happen I have an excuses and this is great.

P.S. here is my PC
AMD XP 2800+
MSI K7N2G-L
The Chipsets are Nvidia Nforce 2 IGP NorthBridge MCP2 SouthBridge
Integrated video, audio, and LAN
512mb and a 256mb Corsair pc 2700 Low latency
Seagate 60GB
West 160 gb
ANTEC SOHO Model SX1040BII with 400 Watt Smart Power
LiteOn 52x24x52
DVD-ROM
Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 XP

So I will only need Nvidia drivers(Video, and MB chipset which controls everything else). Except for my Capture card, but since with the bug in windows I can use it anyway.

Thanx in advance,

Hi ak47,

OS X is strictly for PPC arquitecture. It won't run on Intel based PCs.
Unless you have a PowerPC machine, you won't be able to run it.
If you do get a PowerPC machine, then I suggest you install YellowDog Linux ( http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/ ), and then install OS X. This way, you can run Linux AND OS X simultaneously, using MOL (Mac On Linux ).

The closest thing to OS X on Intel is Darwin for i386. But you won't have the graphical user interface (AQUA). The best you'll be able to do is X11 GUI on it.
Plus it's VERY buggy (core dumps everywhere!, I tried it.)
