Field test are already in progress in 2 towns in France and EDF (the national electricity power supplier) has received the authorization to become a telecom operator. The system should be available in all the country next year :-)
After the TV by ADSL, no we have the ADSL by electrical outlet. |
A friend of mine from the university did a study about this and he found out that here in Rio de Janeiro some tests are being made by the local electricity company (Light). :D

And of course, the power grid is everywhere and at every home, so I guess that's the way to go :cool:

First "electrical" internet connection in my country was set 5 years ago, in small part of my city, and till now AFAIK this is only electrical connection at this moment :? Cable and ADSL dial-up are more cheaper to implement (specially ADSL). I'm cable :lol:
