I was playing with mencoder and mplayer, and worked out a way to get screenshots of dvd's, with bicubic interpolate, and HUGE size.

Example: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~bayton/screenshot.jpg

Bat file:

mplayer -include "screenshot.ini" "E:\DVD\VTS_02_1.VOB"

Ini file:

vo=tga
ss=00:10:00
frames=10
#aspect=1.78/1
#autoaspect=1
nosound=1
sws=10
vf=scale=2048:1152

Edit the ss (hours:mins:secs) to siut what you want. I take 10 frames because the first two always have super-macroblocks for some reason (and you get a better choice of pictures).
Fun eh?!!
