Hello
I saw this "guidelines" in one post here at the forum:

Video times in hours with the standard KVCD template at 352x480:

1:45 -> 2:00+ CQ=70
1:30 -> 1:45 CQ=74
1:15 -> 1:30 CQ=78
1:00 -> 1:15 CQ=82
1:00 or less CQ=86

Can anyone post some results they got from encoding to 352*288, just "how long was the movie, how big was file". Can be good to know for your next encoding.

We're going to have to do some encodes to see what are the numbers for 352 x 240 (28.

I think it should be about half. So every increase/decrease of 4 in CQ should be around +-50MB.

This has to be confirmed by doing several different films at CQ's in steps of 4 starting at 74.

I'll give it a shot with "The Matrix" and post the results here.

I'll start with the KVCD template as it is, but output as 352 x 240 and CQ=74.

I will post the first result in about 4 1/2 hours. That's my estimated time of conversion.

Encoding......

here's mine:

"the matrix" CQ=86 properties in Windows Explorer-
767 MB (804,519,936 bytes) ???

.avs script:

LoadPlugin("C:\ENCODING\MPEG2DEC.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\ENCODING\thematrix.d2v")
BilinearResize(320,208,0,11,720,45
TemporalSmoother(2,2)
AddBorders(16,16,16,16)

it fit perfectly on an 80 min cd-r and the quality and sound was great!

Hmm how much different does The size of the "letterbox" affect the output size. Must be some differece between 352*288 fullscreen and 352*288 1:2.35 letterboxed (moviepixels at only 57% of the screen).
