How can you make another vcd from a vcd?

I have been wanting to know the answer to this for a few weeks now and kept forgetting to ask. :)

After you burn your vcd.. ok How can you make another vcd from that one? You can't just use "copy disk" cause it doesn't work, I have tried it a couple of times. I mean who wants to have say...hundreds of original files to make other copies for you and whoever... LOL Can you copy the files and paste them to be burnt? I haven't tried that one yet...lol And if you were able to convert the .dat file that the vcd is into a .meg or .avi or whatever, wouldn't that change the file anyhow and not be the same, so in turn wouldn't be worth it anyhow. LOL

Like I said, I have been realllllllllly wanting the answer to this one for a while now.

What do you mean it doesn't work? I use Nero or CloneCD to make copies of vcd, svcd, xvcd, and of course, kvcd, all the time. What burning software are you using?

Hi ZeppelinFan:

You can use any of the zillion CD-R copy programs available.

CDRWIN, Nero, CloneCD, EasyCD Creator, etc.

Any of these programs will copy any VCD.

I tried using easy cd creator 4 to try and copy it

All it does is have errors and won't copy it. I'll try one more time but I figured twice was enough..lol
Also I use vcdeasy as my vcd burner.
Maybe version 4 of easy cd creator doesn't like doing it i don't know.

Have you tried Nero? Download Nero 5.5.8 and you can copy and burn vcds and svcds. I think there's a 30 day trial period then it's about $40. I've never had any problems with this program and I burn at 32x speed.

I use VCDEasy to simulate a burn then mount the image with Daemon tools, and preview with WinDVD before I do the actual burn to cdr

seeya!

A friend always do that with all the CD's(VCD,KVCD) i borrow him cause they are so cheap that his DVD doesn't play them at all, so he copies the .dat and rename it to .mpg and proceed as if it was made by him burning it in a better quality CD and voila, it plays pretty fine.

Hope it works for you.

Well...

I finally have tried my Nero burner, and it worked great to copying the vcd. :)

But Kwag just FYI :) The standard easy cd creater does NOT copy vcds. I did try it a third time last night and it still doesnt copy it. Now maybe if you have the other version of Easy CD Creater that can do vcds now it may work but I don't have that one.

Also if anyone needs the Nero burner full version 5.5.7.8 (and it is almost the very newest version out right now) let me know I'll send you the file with the cdkey gen. :)

Thanx for the help on this guys, but I am sure there are others wanting to know this as well.

Did you place this on the FAQ. section Kwag?

Yes, you need the Delux version of Easy CD Creator. I perfer Nero, and you can't have both on the same system drive as Easy uses different ASPI layers. So time to choose.
