How do I increase the volume?
 

First of all, many thanks to those of you who have offered your wisdom on this forum and others back at VCDHELP. In three weeks, I have gone from complete ignorance to a very successful VCD creator. With your help, I've backed up several films and hi-8 home videos with astonishing quality.

So here's my question. When I play back my DVD rip creations, the sound volume is insufficient. When played on a laptop, I can hardly hear it. Is there a simple way to increase the volume using the tools that I am accustomed to? I've been using Smartripper/DVD2AVI/TMPGENC(KVCD), and I'm just beginning to learn AVIsynth.

I know I saw something about this in a guide a couple weeks ago, but I have been unable to locate it.

Did you "checked" under audio "Normalization" and set "Dynamic Range Control" to "Normal" in DVD2AVI when you processed your project?

Or you can increase the audio in TMPGEnc in the audio tab, press "Auto edit" to acces the volume if I remember correct.
An other alternative is to use Vob2audio and rip the audio direct from the vob-files. This will give you a very nice wav or mp3file that you can load into Tmpgenc.
