Look at the work on which I'm stuck since 3 days :-( Barry Lyndon : movie length = 2h54'13'' I use DVD2AVI1.76 to extract in the same time audio in french and english. English : length 2h54h13", file length 490.014 KB, delay -80 ms French : length 2h54h00", file length 489.414 KB, delay -78 ms I DON'T HAVE any clue on why french track is 13 second (and 600 KB) too short ! But for sure, the french audio is out of synch while english is correct :-( :banghead: |
Phil,
i use only that version 176 by LOLYJ modified by dvd2svcd 1.05. never give me problems,if you want to try: http://www.dvd2dvd.org/ direct download(maybe work): http://www.dvd2dvd.org/DVD2AVI%201.7...ine%201.05.zip |

Remember, I am that guy that says anywhere to use 1.76 and nothing else, just like you do :-) |
Well then, did you try the latest DGIndex (that's what it's called these days) version?
|
@Dialhot
Did you try extracting the audio using DVDDecrypter in Demux mode? |
@all
I finish by doing a one audio track only with permanent subtitles. Barry Lyndon has to be seen in original soundtrack only. British accent can't be replaced by anything :-) Next time I face with such problem I will try DGindex and other ways to demux. |
Well its known that the old DVD2AVI drops Frames in the VIDEO served stream if the source starts using a specific IPB Order, not the audio as in here both participants got problems in less audio length, right?
I had that Problem on "Red Planet"! Means the german Audio also was 13sec. too short 8O I saw lately that these 13sec Audio where used exactly as length for the WarnerBros. intro! So I do assume that thers something tricky set in the orig DVD structure so a german audio playback does refer to the first 13sec of the english audio and then it switches to the german AC3 one.... well its crazy and I do beleive that this is based on a diff. reason. Well I counted the "frames" of audio which are needed to be added to the german track using AC3 Delay Corrector and finally BOTH AC3s now are in sync. Well If the german audio initially is choosen, I wont hear the sound of the WarnerBros. but then directly it starts and its IN SYNC! Crazy but now it works. ;-) |

I haven't bothered using them to convert - if media player classic can't play it, I figure I'll have problems witht he conversion. Also note that there are four versions of the "fixed" dvd2avi: 1.00, 1.10, 1.20, 1.30. 1.00 worked, but was buggy (according to the dev. 1.10 worked well 1.20 was an interim build, and was quickly replaced with 1.30 this one doesn't save as 1.76 format (1.10 does!) - hence it won't play on MPC, like DGIndex. So, probably the best overall version is 1.76 bugfixed to 1.10. |

What comes to encoding, if you use the dgdecode.dll which is in the same package as DGIndex and delete all the mpeg2dec*.dll files from your plugins folder, you won't have any problems. |
Boulder - I don't use avisynth, I go vob-d2v (and split ac3)-tmpgenc (besweet the ac3)-mux mv and mp2.
Will your method work with that? I accept that MPC may not understand the new formatting of the d2v - but then doesn't that indicate that other things won't understand it also? |

You have to update this file also, and if it is not delivered with dgindex, then tmpgenc can't read files produced by it. |
I think there is a VFAPI handler in the package. If you wish to get the project files working with MPC, you should contact the author of MPC, Gabest, and ask if he could add the support.
|
It seems calcumatic has a problem reading the new DGindex d2v files (for forced film at least). Not a big problem because you can get the length using vdubmod, but still...
