KVCD smaller then 600 MB
hello, its been so long since i've used TMPGenc, i've been mainly using MENCODEme, but i want to try something that MENCODEme does not support. KVCD with a low birate. what i'm trying to do is take a big VOB and encode it to be a KVCD thats less then 600 MB. i already know which templete to use. and i know that i have to use CalcuMatic to calculate the avergae birate to feed it into CQMatic and get a CQ rate at which to encode. but when i get the CQ its always a big number like 87 out of a 101 minute movie which an average birate of 615.0. is taht normal if i want a KVCD less then 600 MB ?

Open in a mediaplayer the ".sample" file that CQMatic left on the disc after it found the CQ. You surely have an error...
|
hmm sorry Dialhot i think i got it now, it started encoding, but hmm its encoding at a CQ of 87.77. i dunno if thats gonna work out the way i want it to. (less then 600 MB)
|
Humm... with ULBR you can put up to 6 hour on a CD. That is 150 MB per hour. So I guess that is not wrong to have 87.77 for 1h41.
Perhaps ULBR is too much. You should try with LBR. Note: why do you want 600 MB when a CD is 800 ? |

alright the movie finished encoding i set Calcmatic to 550 MB and now i came up with a 600 MB KVCD a little bit off, what do u think happened ?
|
In the top of the CQ scale (above 85), the slighest variation can lead to a difference in the file of several MB.
Here CQ matic foudn the value 87.7 and perhaps the real correct one was 87.5. You see ? The accuracy is not really good in this part of the CQ curve. |
alright thanks, i did another one and it came out great, but now i have another problem with TMPGEnc
Note* like i said i am not a very big fan of TMPGenc anymoer so forgot all about it. anyways i got a big MPEG that i tried making a D2v using dvd2av1 but something was wrong the screen was green. and when i just tried loading the MPEG into TMPGEnc and it told me unsupotred file MPEG. |

yes indeed that is the case and i did not know that :)
so how will i manage to feed the MPEG-1 to TMPGEnc, if i do just load it this is what it says :arrow: Cannot open or unsupported. |
Code:
Directshowsource("mpeg1.mpg").KillAudio() |
thanks i'm going to try it now.....
yep it worked thanks bro :) |
