Ok i would like to try this(i can see Phil rolling his eyes right now )

ANyway i want to use D2SRoBa -do i need still to get the kvcd plugin

Do i have to set anything up besides pick the encoder or do i need just to start D2SRoBa and then it will do everything i need

I want to use the script Jorel pasted here

Code:
and encode the video using only that filters in the script:
Undot()
Deen()
But don't know how to set it up

Sorry for the basic questions but Jorel suggested i start a thread to help me

for kdvds right bigggt?
CCE2.50 or 266 version? (with 266 we can use the kvcd notch matrix,but 2.50 is faster for athlons)
2 or 3 movies per dvd media?
time of each movie and if is 16:9 or 4:3!
i need first to know that details bigggt! (more answers will come,believe)
in the first steps seems hard but it's easy, you will see!

Did you see that guide ?

How ! Look into the DVD2SVCD directory, you will see a "avisynthscript.ini" or something like that. Open it, and see if you understand the logic in that. If you don't just ask.

Thanx guys

A Jorel

the thing is i don't have any details yet,i just want to learn it first

I eventually want to fit 2 movies per dvd ,widescreen and yes it does seem like a lot of stuff at first but i'm sure with the help around here i will get it

@ Phil i have looked at that guide(that was my first ? to Jorel was for a guide,there are so many i wasn't sure which one)

Code:
FACAR used for best compression, and perfect sized kvcds, skvcds or kdvds
I never heard this mentioned before so i wasn't sure

edit- I just copied your optimal scripts from the beginning of this dvd2svcd forum but can't fiugre how to make the simple script that Jorel suggested to use

edit2-also if using CCE are which do you use cbr,multipass vbr ,o ne pass vbr

ok bigggt,
first some little explanations...
16:9 movies get more compression than 4:3 movies if they have seamless time. then if each movie have 2 hours,you need more space for the 4:3 movie that for the 16:9 movie.
dvd-r get ~4,464Gb size, then choose in Roba 2.0Gb for the 16:9 movie and remainder for the 4:3 movie. sizes are only ilustratives to get the idea, ok?

to put a new script(example using the filters that i posted) :
copy and paste this lines in the avisynth.ini of D2s folder and save:
[AVISYNTH_ NO Resize - Undot - Deen]
0=undot()
1=Deen()

now you can select that script in D2S-->frameserver tab-->Avisynth setup.
you can put lots of scripts following this steps, doing exact like this.
remember: if all the filters needed are in the avisynth plugins folder,you don't need to use the lines with "loadplugin" in the scripts...avisynth will load all filters automaticaly!
i think that this answer your first question bigggt and we have lots of things to do before we start...but continue, do your questions step by step!

FACAR is just a way to cut out automatically what is normally in the overscan area. I find the words "for perfect ..." a little too much and surely not true at all. The result of FACAR is NOT PERFECT at all. It just gives you the same image than you will have when you look at the DVD.
The problem is : that means you DON'T have all the picture that is ON the DVD. We all know that TV cut some of the picture, right ? FACAR cut the same things...
Generally in KVCD (and KDVD) we try to resize the picture to have this "normally cut part" included in the screen.

Note: I suggest you to add a letterbox line to the script of jorel if you want to not do any resize (the script Jorel give you is so much faster than FACAR !)

[AVISYNTH_ NO Resize - Undot - Deen]
0=undot()
1=Deen()
2=Letterbox(16,16,16,16)

Note2: I also suggest to put deen BEFORE undot.

if i understood you question,(remember in pm? i need questions with simple words)
you want to know how to configure CCE.
first you have to open Roba and after select the size needed,click ok and Roba call D2S.

if you're using CCE250(faster for athlons)select "multipass vbr" in the encoder tab!
the number of passes you can choose 3 or 4, they are irrelevants using Roba!

if you're use CCE266 you can select the kvcd notch matrix(give better "Q" factor than CCE250)
select "multipass vbr" in the encoder tab!
the number of passes you can choose 3 or 4, they are irrelevants using Roba!
to use CCE266 you need the "eclcce" : http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/eclcce.zip
just unzip and this will ask where CCE266 is....just adjust for the cctspt.exe!
now in the encoder tab of D2S, select the eclCCE.exe and not the cctspt.exe(from CCE266 folder)
now you can see the "matrix" tab (with CCE250 this tab is out)
how to load the kvcd notch matrix:
double click in "matrices.ini" in D2s folder,copy the matrix posted and save.
choose the kvcd notch matrix in the matrix tab!

[KVCD Notch BETA-1a]
Intra=8,9,12,22,26,27,29,34,9,10,14,26,27,29,34,37 ,12,14,18,27,29,34,37,38,22,26,27,31,36,37,38,40,2 6,27,29,36,39,38,40,48,27,29,34,37,38,40,48,58,29, 34,37,38,40,48,58,69,34,37,38,40,48,58,69,79
NonIntra=16,18,20,22,24,26,28,30,18,20,22,24,26,28 ,30,32,20,22,24,26,28,30,32,34,22,24,26,30,32,32,3 4,36,24,26,28,32,34,34,36,38,26,28,30,32,34,36,38, 40,28,30,32,34,36,38,42,42,30,32,34,36,38,40,42,44

seems ok?...remember simple words please!

bigggt,
i have "my own way" to remove the credits to get more quality in the encodes(more Q and fast encode), but need big free space that will be free again before D2S start.
how do you rip the dvds and do you encode with or without final credits

@ bigggt

i think u read the kvcd guide

go the link n click on the BIG KDVD GUIDE link on the top

http://www.asimshah.ho8.com/kvcdguides

that guide should show u the basic guidelines, simple step by step.

u can adjust it to your own need.

@ Bazzy2004

Great guide

@ anyone

When using D2sorba when selecting the size

for example if i want to put 2 movies on 1 dvd i would just select 2241 for equal room but is the 2241 going to be

1.Just video
2.Video + Audio
3.Video + Audio + overhead

ALso in dvd2svcd in the bitrate tab -do i need to change anything there

thanx

bigggt, option 3 but
choose 2230 for each and encode one first,another later..and remember:
differents ARs and final times from movies need differents sizes to get seamless compression! you don't need to change anything in D2S using Roba(for bitrates/sizes of course)
example: first movie 16:9 with 02:10 need less size than
second movie 4:3 with 01:50...got the "idea"?
hint: you will see it easy if you're using Roba, the "Q" found for each movie have to be seamless value.
