KVCD: problems with the prediction phase prior to encoding in TMPENc?
I have been using a version of ACP to create some nice KVCD's in the past to try and learn the basics. Now i want to progress to SVCD in the KVCD format. ACP doesnt look like it does this so I have tried doing it manually step by step. I have done the Rip, DVD2AVI and audio encoding to 48k. I am now having problems with the prediction phase prior to encoding in TMPENc. Can any of the Members tell me how to do this?? I have searched for guides but there does not seem to be one for KSVCD. I now how to MUX and DEMUX with TMPGENc so that wont be a Problem. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you. Blubear.. |
There is no diff between making a KVCD and what you call KSVCD. They are both KVCD ! One is in MPEG1, the other in MPEG2. That's all.
So take any guide you read and use it. If your problem is only with prediction, you have to look at "CQMatic" (see the relevenat section of the forum, here on this site). |

I've had nothing but excellent results from Cqmatic (using 1301 with the 'out-of-order' prediction).
It's consistent, and the end product movie is lovely! |
Hi Fluffbutt,
How many movies have you done with that CQMatic build :?: And how far off has prediction been :?: -kwag |

Note: I use 64-2300 as bitrate range, and always do x1 prediction except is the movie is 2hours long or above. Note2: that is important also to know that I always encode in the area near CQ=70/75 (or CQ_VBR 18/20). |
