Can KDVD be 23 frames per second?

Can K-DVD'z be done in 23 frames per sec & still be compatable or do they have to be 29 frames per sec?
(can regular dvds be 23 or r they also only 29) ??

You can encode 23.976fps, but you MUST encode with pulldown so it will be DVD standard.
DVD players can't play 23.976fps without pulldown flag.

thanks karl ... what does pull down do tho ?

It set flags in the mpeg stream to activate the 23.976progressive -> 29.970interlaced on-the-fly.

DVD can't be in another things that 29.970, either progressive or interlaced. That is why almost all movies are encoded in 23.976 progressive and then processed with pulldown.

The standalone will perform that yes. That is done during the play.
