File not found: 'frameno.avi'
 
first of all the MencodeMe download for windows link is broken i dunno why...

i get this error with mencodeMe while trying to encode, anyone know what it may be ?

umm i would love to forget it but the movie won't encode it just doesn't even start :( i'll post what it says at the end

I suppose that is not you that provided this filename (frameno.avi) and so, you don't know what it is ?

no that is infact not the filename of the movie or the source :( i dunno where that came from...

Are you sure to use the correct mencode exe used for mencoderME ? Because new release can have new options and won't work with the GUI.

I would have say : please stop using this playskool toy and try a real encoder... Or switch to aPackshot if you really have so much time to waste.

Are you creating your Fake.avi with another software than MakeAvis.exe?
Maybe it is the problem.
Please, post your temp.conf, but replace intra and extra matrix numbers with text "notch matrix" or something like this. (in this way, it is not so hard to read)

yes i am whenever i use makevis.exe it crashes while making the fake avi

Let me guess : your script that you turned into a fake avi is using directshowsource ?

Note: a real encoder is an encoder that gives you readable output. Mencoder is not in that for a lot a players. And you ar DEFINITELY not skilled enoght in video editing to handle all the problems that you will face with it. Personnaly I won't even continue to help you with it.

Note2: your problem is not related to mencoderme but to mencoder so this thread is about to be closed. A just let Pro to give you a little more hints for you to not be too frustrated.

well i used another program that what it does is take the D2v and turn that into a fake avi, the makeAvis.exe u have to load a script and the one that u gave me phil would always crash while making the fake avi.
