Video File Rip of DVD Movie - How Would You Encode?
I have a great DVD rip of Jason X. When i check the properties of the movie, all it says is it's a video clip. It doesn't say it's an avi or mpeg, although i use WMP to watch it or PowerDVD. Now, the movie itself is only 1hr.30min. So im wondering how should i go about encoding this with TMPG Plus? Also after it's done encoding using a DVD template, what would the output file be and how would i burn that onto a DVD-R? Because you're supposed to burn as a VIDEO_TS. Can someone please help me? I've noticed a few of my questions get "dodged" in here and i don't know why? I hope it's nothing personal? Im just lookin for a little help and guidance like everyone else. |
First off read the tutorials on the main page, they will tell you how to use FitCd to resize the avi video for tmpeg to encode, and hey'll tell you how to use Tmpeg itself.
Secondly using the DVD template produces a DVD compliant Mpeg2 stream which would then need to be authored in a software package like SpruceUp or DVDit PE these packages will either burn the mpeg straight to disc or produce a title set ie the Video_ts and Audio_ts folders that can then be burned to a disc via nero. Well I hope this points you in the right direction. |
Maybe it might help if you look at the extension of the filename. If it is:
.avi --> DivX .mpg --> (S)VCD .wmv --> Windows Media Video etc... I think you get the point. If you give us this information maybe someone can help you. A-Star |
i recommend you don't use dvd-r (unless you need very high quality) but burn it as kvcd (maybe the 704x576 pal or ntsc) its nearly dvd-resolution and if there ain't too much motion in your movie it should fit onto 1 80-minute cd-r
