MovieStacker: Resize filters any difference?

I normally use gripfit but beacuse of compatibilty problem with makeavis Im currenlty using lanccoz are ther any advantage with bilinier, bicubic standard or bicubic precise.also the sliders underneath which say centered, block aligned or macro block aligned could some give me a simple explantion of these .thnx in advance

In order of sharpness of the image produced (the left one is the softer) :
bilinear > bicubic > bicubic precise > lanczos.

The file size order is the same (the left one is the smaller). The time to encode is the opposite (the left one is the faster).

For my eyes, bilinear is always too soft and I never use it. Bicubic is often use in association with asharp and the result is quite the same as using lanczos alone. I rather the last solution.

For alignement : centered means that top and bottom border will be equal, even if that is not the ideal situation (border size can be odd). Block align is equivalent to tell "divisible by 8". Macro block aligned is equivalent to "divisible by 16".
With macro block align you have often a top bordert that is smaller than the bottom one.

phil: do you recommend lanczos for DVD sources as well? Or only AVI? Also, does gripfit distinguish between bicubic precise and standard? Because the line doesn't look any different between the two.

Thanks!

I use it for any kind of source. But the resizer is just one of the line in the script and all the lines make "a whole". You can't isolate just one.

Gripfit use bicubic standard. But Fabrice gave a way to use bicubic precise with it if you want.
