Hello, Im new to this forum and actually pretty new to video encoding and such. Ive been making kvcds with no problem following the instructions of of one of the guides I found on here. It was excellent, however, it says to use FACAR detect borders and preview - FACAR and preview, and then says to replace MA_Script's lines:

1=GripCrop(^TargetWidth, ^TargetHeight+^BorderTop+^BorderBottom, overscan=^overscan, source_anamorphic=^source_ana, dest_anamorphic=^dest_ana)
2=GripSize(resizer="BiCubicResize")

With the entire FACAR script, and delete 10=GripBorders().

This has worked 90% of time time.

Now ive got 10 -12 movies now that I cannot use any script on other than FACAR, because it shows a preview. When I try to preview, the viewing window has some red text thats cut short so i cant read what it says.
I have seen it say it only works with YUY----cuts off
or
GripBorder, or Crop something or another.. i cant read the error so I dont know what to look up for help.

I have just been using FACAR and its horrible, im missing the bottom portion of my movies and its just a wasted disc.

I am burning avi - kvcd

If anyone can help it would be great.. thanks

No, I dont use any subtitles. I clicked the Subtitles tab and noticed permanent subtitles was checked. How should i change this in order to avoid any further frustration?

Also, the error MA Script gives is GripCrop: Source must be YUY---cuts off

It was never checked, but permanent subitles is selected and disabled. This is getting seriously rediculous. I just need to find a script that works I guess.
I don't think this has anything to do with subtitles. Everything is at its default setting, unless otherwise specified in bazzys guide.

It's probable that this is nothing to do with permsub but the reason is the same : my scripts bypass the original "convertToYUY2()" command inserted in the scripts by DVD2SVCD. This is okay for the encoding job itself but for permsub for instance, that makes them to fail. The preview is probably in the same situation.

All you have to do is to use an other script, verify what you need to see on the preview then switch bak to the real script you need to use.

But WHY do you need to use preview ? I never use it !

I see, I just assumed that if preview wasnt showing me a frame from my movie, but an error message, than something would be amis in my finished product. Im going to just use MA_Script then and not even preview and see what happens. I didnt know preview was unimportant. Again, my limited knowledge of this software is based solely on that guide.

Thanks

Preview mainly serve to control two things :
- if the subtitles are displayed according to your wishes
- if the deinterlace process works correctly.

But appart this, the preview is not necessary. If you do not use subtitles or deinterlace, you can live withoutit
