With a frame rate of 29.97, and wide screen material, you'll get around 45 minutes on a CD. If you want fo fit 80 minutes, try lowering the CQ_VBR value to around 14. But your quality will be reduced drastically.

I did ICE AGE and Monsters Inc at 16 and both looked great! Also set the min max to 500, 1550. Ran audio at 224 for Ice and 128 monsters.

Good luck!

Kwag,

I am using x3 on APEX 600A. Thanks for that.

For couple movies, i got the same age old problem (video skips to synch with audio) event with successful settings. Any thoughts?

With CQ 30, x3 will write 50-60min. for 23fps WIDE movie
and will write only 35-40min. for 23fps FULLscreen movie.

CQ 20 and below, i see blocks on 27" but not for all movies.

What is best min, max,CQ if i change x3 to SVCD res. and for 1/2DVD res.?

My best bet is SVCD res. as it competes with DVD res. on regular TV's
and file size can be very low compared DVD. Pl. suggest.

Do the same settings exactly as you were doing but at the VIDEO tab in Tempgenc, set the SIZE and ASPECT RATIO to pal settings. there'll be no more video or audio skips I promise you.
