I have alot of films in kvcd and skvcd and i was wondering if i can put a few onto a dvd disc or do i need to convert them to a different format so my standalone dvd player can read them?

I know my standalone plays the format as i have cd-r's that are kvcd and skvcd.

Is it just a question of burning them to dvd or is it abit more tricky?

Many thx .

If you have mpegs in your PC, you can give them to a DVD Authoring program and it will make the correct DVD structure.
TMPGEnc DVD Author can take several mpegs, even with different resolution, and make a DVD with them.
Many moderns standalones that play DivX, XviD, mpeg4, can play also mpeg1, mpeg2 as it. In other words with these standalones you can put several DivXs, XviDs, OGGs, mpeg1 and mpeg2, etc., all blended in a DVD burned as DATA, and it will play fine all files.

Personally if your original source was a DVD then I would re-do them again to Mpeg2 at DVD res 720 x 576 you can get up to six hours with excellent quality onto one DVD.

I say this because if your KVCD has a lower resolution then it wont look as good on the big screen and as sharp.

1/ they must be in MPEG2
2/ the resolution have to be a valid DVD resolution (but your player can proabably used also non-valid resolution on a DVD. You must test it)
3/ you MUST resample the audio to 48 KHZ !

So yes, it's a little tricky.
