DVD Player playback problems?
I tried to create my first KVCD from a Divx file ripped from dvd, the movie is 2hrs. I encoded it using TMPEG3.0 XPRESS using the kvcd matrix and these settings:
352x240 29fps NTSC VBR CQ 60 Max Bitrate kbps 1150/Min Bitrate 650 44100HZ 128kpbs audio The movie turned out fine as mpg right size to fit and played back fine on Windows Media player. After I burned it in nero at 8x and played it in WMP still worked fine. Then when I tried it on my standalone DVD Player it seems the audio is out of sync by a second or so. Then also the movie freezes after around 38minutes. The player locks up and i can hear it just continually cycling i cant stop it sometimes. Why is this happening is it the dvd players problem? |
@whobetta,
Not all stand-alone DVD players will play KVCD corectly. Check this link and see if your DVD is there: http://www.kvcd.net/portal/articles.php?lng=en&pg=19 -BP |
Ok it works fine on my Sony dvd player, the one it works partially on is a cheap Electrohome player which seems to work with everything else I've thrown at it hehe. Is there any tips or changes I can make from my settings above to make it work better or propely for the electrohome. Im thinking the electrohome has some problems with something bitrate/cq? Or is it just not worth it for the cheap player.

Hi Betta,
Edited. If it plays during 38 minutes... Maybe you want to burn at a lower speed and use a different CD brand. Cheers |
