I used TMPGenc with some AVIs. A few days later, I tried to use it with the same AVIs, I got this message "Can not open or unsupported.........

In between using TMPGEnc, I installed DVD2SVCD and FITCD. How can they affect TMPGEnc?

Boon had the answer. Go into the Environmental Settings in TMPGEnc and increase the priorty of DirectShow by right clicking.

That did the trick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Boon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can now load those AVIs. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it related to installing DVD2SVCD? I really would like to know more about what the Environmental Settings are all about.

Yes, I had this problem just the other day- I bumped the DirectShow priority to the top of the list and the problem was solved. I didn't install anything new but I think I had other video applications opened (like WMP and/or vdub).
