Lossless transcode from KVCD to KSVCD?

I have a KVCD done from a DVD that I no longer own (Roy Chubby Brown - Bad Taste). I loaned it to a friend who has since moved away :x ). Trouble is, that the standalone I have doesn't do KVCD very well, but it does KSVCD just fine. (It was done in the early days of my learning and I didn't bother recoding it to KSVCD, since I still had the source DVD).

My question is - is there a lossless method of converting the KVCD over to KSVCD (Mpeg 1 to Mpeg 2)? I've thought about using TMPGEnc and using a CQ of 100 since that's the highest it goes to. But I'm sure I read somewhere on here that beyond something like 85 or 90 there is no more quality benefit.

Thanks.

EDIT:- Wow, is that my 100th post already! 8O

The best and most efficient method you can try is to demux your mpeg1 file, and remux and burn it again AS SVCD. Most standalones will take this CD and will play it without any problem, no matter what resolution it has.

Thanks Prodator, your advice worked a treat! :P

I'm now going to apply the same procedure to about 5 other KVCD's that I made a while back before I learnt that my SAP handles KSVCD better.

Your idea was far simpler than my idea, far less time consuming too!
