I keep getting an error in TMPGenc when I load in a avs script that says that i the mpeg2source("C\video.d2v") is an invalid function. then says error on line 1 of video.avs

And I assume that if you're using DVD2AVI v1.76/1.77 you have Mpeg2Dec3.dll in your avisynth plugins directory.
Or that if you're using DGMPGDec 1.0.12 you have DGDecode.dll in your avisynth plugins directory.
Or that at least you even have Avisynth installed and that you're using readavs.dll with tmpgenc.

DVD2avi 1.76 i have AVIsynth 2.55 installed and have mpeg2dec mpegdec2 and mpegdec3 in my avisynth plugin directory.

That is the error ! They all include the same functions so you must have only ONE in your directory. Drop mpeg2dec and mpeg2dec2.
