I have a clip avi with resolution 640x272
I use the script V4 Dialhot.
I have put gripCrop(528, 576, overscan=2, source_anamorphic=true,dest_anamorphic=false)

In Tmpgenc Setting I have put:
aspect ratio -- 4:3 625 line (Pal)
Source aspect ratio -- 4:3 625 line (Pal, 704x576)
Video Arrange Method -- center (keep aspect ratio)

The imagen in the result of the kvcd has the dimensions (without black borders): 494x240 which gives 2.06, while for the original avi the image has 640x272 which gives 2.35.
I dont understand this slight difference?

The diff if that the TV does not have the same A/R than a PC display and you can't compare directly the pictures area because the TV will "distort" it to fit to the correct A/R.

So In spite of the fact that the face of the actors is a litte bit alarged, in the TV i will see it in the correct A/R.

Other question: Since I began, i have usually put in the line of the Gripcrop (source_anamorhphic=false) until yesterday when i have seen that the face of the actors is deformed). I have usually thought that in the line (source_ananorphic=true or false) is made only for source DVD. So my question, when the resolutions of the source (although is avi) is 1:2.35, i must put true, and if not i must put false?

Yes it is. If you really want to check the A/R on your PC you must use a media player taht allows you for force the A/R to 4:3 (zoomplayer, bsplayer...)

You have to put true if the source is anamorphic and false if it is not !
That A/R of the source as NOTHING to do with the fact it is anamorphic.

Genrally (99% of times) Divx are NOT anamorphic, except if they were done by dumb monkeys that can't even understand how to ripp properly a DVD. But generally these sources a so bad that you won't use them
