way for making DVD with only movie + menus?
 

I used IfoEdit to find out which VTS' to keep to just get the menu and main movie. Then I copied those files to a folder and thought I could open then in DVD-BR :arrow: Wrong! Didn't work at all... :cry:
DVD-RB gave me an error saying "Run-time error'9'".
If I load the VIDEO_TS folder in PowerDVD it plays flawlessly, with both menu and movie...
Can someone please help me fix this? I'm guessing I'm gonna have to edit the VIDEO_TS.IFO in some way...?

You should try to use MenuEdit or DVDRemake to switch off all entries in the menus that leads to stuff not present in your final DVD.

I now tried to open the copied files in DVDReMake but it says files are missing... Perhaps you meant I should open the ISO in DVDReMake before copying the files?
BTW Is there a free version of DVDReMake. It seems I can't save anything in the demo version...

Remake needs to be feeded using the main IFO file of your disk/ripping as that one contains the main managent VMG of your DVD

If I rip only the main movie, is there an easy program I can use to make a menu? To choose, let's say, subtitles?

Well, I just wanted to inform you that I found a method for my quest that fits me perfectly. First I use DVDStripper 0.3.0 to rip the DVD (it's using DVD Decrypter for this :) ) and then I "clean" the disc from unwanted extras and menus. And finally I use DVD-RB as usual to get the best possible looking KDVD ;) .

In my personal personal opinion the most useful tool to treat titlesets on a DVD is "Vobblanker" ... very easy to use and you EVEN can "cut" parts from cells, means If a DVD in its original unshrinked size just gots an overhaed of a few MBs which lets you suffer from a non possible 1:1 Backup ... just use Vobblanker and choose the cell containing the videodata of the moviecredits and cut a bit of the credits (ShrinkDVD also can do that, but Vobblanker gots much more options)

I have used all the above programs in combination with DVD-RB in my quest to strip my discs of unwanted extras. DVD Stripper is annoying because it's so slow, and doesn't work on files already ripped to your HD. VobBlanker is great for it's ability to remove even individual cells, but it does take time (faster than stripper) and leaves you with two copies of your ripped dvd -- one original, the other with some blanking. Another alternative is to use PgcEdit, which can blank entire VTST's by replacing it with a dummy VOB. The program automatically moves the original VOBs to a backup directory. This means the program is instantaneous and doesn't leave you with 2 copies of your dvd on the HD.

The PROBLEM I've been having with all these programs is I think RB *really* does not like dvds that have been pre-processed, i.e. extras are removed, trailers blanked, etc. What I've ended up with was a lot of movies that have audio dropout issues when played on my standalone. Even worse is you may get buffer overflow errors (#4) during your rebuild process. Reportedly, RB prefers unaltered dvd rips in the form of ISO files mounted with daemon tools.

Right now I'm giving that a try, allowing RB to do all the encoding and rebuilding, and THEN using PgcEdit or VobBlanker to remove unwanted titlesets. I'll let you know how things go!
