I used KDVD full and made my mpg 2 file and used DVDit to make my dvd movie but there is a problem. All the movies come out wide screen even if the settings in tempgenc are set to 4:3 or 16:9 after burning.
I used 4:3 and the screen while encodeing to mpg is at wide screen?? at 16:9 its at wide screen??

What are the correct settings for kdvd aspect ratios and wide screen to accomplish this in tempgenc after burning ?? Also i really need to learn how to use fitcd , what are the correct settings i should use .
any experienced user out there i really need your help

Hi CSIG1001,

If FitCD detected anamorphic on the source, you had to check anamorphic on destination. Normally, we leave anamorphic unchecked for VCD(KVCD) use, but you need it for DVD(KDVD).

There are two "Anamorphic" check boxes on FitCD.
One for source, and one for destination. If you want to make a DVD and keep the same proportion as the source, if the "Anamorphic" check box on FitCD is checked when you open your source file, you MUST check "Anamorphic" on the destination box of FitCD.

Ok i got what you are saying but i am still confused about how to use fitcd with Tempgenc. Right now on most movies i do kdvd full and i get blackboarders and the above those boarders i get light grayish black and then the wide screen movie. I encode with tempgenc and make the cd with dvdit at 16:9 ratio. I saw where you told me to check both source and destination animorphic setting in fitcd but i can seem to change the avi. How do you get fitcd to work?? And what do i need to do to make a good widescreen movie that is able to fit the whole screen with 1 inch black boarders?
thanks kwag your a great help

You must install Avisynth. Then you go into FitCD and load your source file (either an .AVI or a DVD2AVI project file- .D2V). You select the destination size according to which template you are going to use (i.e. 1/2 DVD for the 352x480 template). After you're done hit the floppy icon in the lower right corner of the FitCD window and it will save the text from the lower left corner into a text file with a .AVS extension which you will load into TMPGEnc. If FitCD saves the file as FILM.AVS then in TMPGEnc you will load FILN.AVS as the source video file.

As ren said. You must install AviSynth. Grab it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/avisynth2

When you hit the "Browse" button on video source on TMPEG, just scroll down file types to "All". Then look for the .avs file. It will load.

Tip: Or you can type *.avs and you will see just the AVSs files.
