When I transcode a dvd using DvdShrink with Shrink doing the dvd write also (via nero api), I sometimes get a second or two pause around the start of playback (standalone player).

This may happen about 3 -5 times, then never again on that play session, AND if I rewind the dvd to check the pause, it's not there the second time.

Surely if there was a write error it'd be there when I play it repeated in the same area??

What's going wrong?

one time i had problems like you shrinking a dvd with big compression.
was ~53% and i was doing tests in dvdr-w.
then is did 2 times ~26% and the problems is gone.

was too big compression like in my test?

hint:
don't burn inside dvdshrink.....
choose hard disk folder first and check the result before burn!

I thought of that too, but one was 82% the other was no compression at all.

I've also tried ImgTool 115 (116 has bugs, for me) - same result.

It's nearly always at the start of playback, and is not repeatable (as in, you can't rewind and play the glitch again).

Is it possible it's just my player being futzy on me? (maybe need a cleaning-brush disc in it???)

did you burn in slow speed?
high speeds to burn can do that!
if you burn at 2X max, try using dvdshrink 3.1 Fluffbutt,
i read seamless problems in the forum.
sometimes 3.2 versions give strange results, test and burn in dvd-rw!
