KVCD: Two-hour movie shows as only 19 minutes?

I have an MPEG-1 movie that is 2 hours and twenty minutes. Depending on my media player, it shows as 2 hours OR only 19:58. I've learned that it was probably compressed by KVCD in order to burn to a CD. But I want to undo this as I can't fast-forward or rewind or do any kind of seek or search while watching it on my PC.

This is very probably related to mpeg codecs.
Install Mainconcept or Ligos mpeg codecs.

Please for further info you need about anything, first do a search with search engine.
If was impossible for you reach the info, post your question then.

I'll try that now.

I did search but I wasn't sure what to type in and the results I got didn't match my problem.

Hi Z9,

This problem is related to MPEG-1 VBR on standalone players.
Most DVD players expect a constant bitrate on MPEG-1 (VCDs). But when your stream is VBR, they can't really tell what the total time is.
Some players will work correctly fast forwarding/rewinding, but others won't.

I installed the codecs. Didn't work.

Zwag, what are my options?

"Z" :lol:

Try demuxing your file with TMPEG, and remuxing with mplex.
Sometimes that works wonders :)
Use this screen as a reference for the muxing options:

My fault, I must have looking at my own name and it stuck, lol. I'll try that and get back to you.
