In the present case (usage of an avs script that does the resize), center and full screen will give the exact same result.

Kwag answered first but if I was the first one to answer, I would have answered to you to use "center"

I personally try to not go above 4h in 704*576 and 6h in 544*576 (not standard, be carrefull).

This is for KDVD with 2 audio streams at 384 Kbp/s for each movie.

You must to check box "downconvert sample rate", but also configurate it to 48000 in ssrc (button grayed in folowing picture.

If your source is DVD, audio is at 48000 Hz. Just keep unchecked "downconvert sample rate" box.

Use bbmpeg and set "forced mux rate" = 0

If you are doing KDVD you don't need to multiplex.
DVD authoring programs will take audio and video elementary streams (m2v, mp2 or ac3).
You can multiplex anyway to check A-V sync. In this case select DVD.

Not the mpg, but m2v (or mpv, video elementary stream without audio) and mp2 (or ac3).
I don't know DVD-Lab, but many DVD authoring software, if you give it a mpg (muxed), it will demux it anyway, it is a double lost of time, as you multiplexed for to be demuxed again.
