KDVD: CCE 2.70 templates?

Hmm, I just realized that there isn't a CCE forum on this site -- how odd! Anyway I've heard that the latest CCE 2.70 has some good speed improvements over 2.67, and wanted to try it out. However I can't use vmesquita's 2.67 templates with 2.70, my encodes turn out all rainbowish and stuff. So my question is, is it difficult to manually input the kvcd notch matrix and other settings into CCE? could someone please tell me how to do it? And if someone could make a new 2.70 templates registry file, that would be super! :D

I don't know how it is in 2.70 but if it works like previous ones, it's simple :

in menu "template" selct two times the "default" template (taht should be the only one you have in the list I guess).
This open the window taht allow to change the settings of this template. Click on the "Video" button and you will have the possibility to enter the matrix (see the "quantisation matrix" button).
You can save the matrix for further purpose, and after you can also save the template under an other name.

thanks phil i'll give that a try. are there any other settings in CCE for notch that are different from standard? There are some things in the "Quality..." area that seem different, I just wasn't sure if they were important or not.

I don't know what is in the default for 2.70 but I can tell you what I use (slihgly changes in original template from VM) :

In general window : Q = 20, min = 64, max = 5000
In video window : M=3, M/N=5, Seq header = 1, everything uncheck except "Restrict I-frame insertion", Luma range = 16-235
Quality : everything uncheck, Quantizer char = 20 (different from Q above !), DC = 8, Zigzag and progressive flag scan checked.

Can you explain to me the use of the option:

"Restrict I-frame insertion"

I have it unchecked.

This is the equivalent of the "Detect Scene Change" option of tmgpenc.

If you uncheck it, I frame will be inserted each time a scene change is detected, that means that you will have more I frames in your encoded video and the file is 2-3% bigger.

Use this if you author with chapters and absolutly want to have a chapter to start on a scene change. For my part I don't care about that.
