asf/wmv conversion problems
Hi, i maybe have posted this before.
I can play wmv and asf files fine with Media Player, but i cannot convert some of those files. It seems that files with a Windows Media Video 9 codec or a Windows Media Audio 9 codec convert fine, but when it is lower than that, let's say version 8 or 7, i cannot convert it anymore. I have tried Tmpgenc and also EOvideo but both refuse to convert them How can i fix this, how can i delete the old codecs, how can i install new ones, where can i find them, please help me... |
As long as you can play them, you can convert them using directshowsource in an avisynth script.
But sometimes you need to build a graph with graphedit and use it as source in the script (directshowsource can open graphedit graphes). Do you use a script ? If not, do it ! |
ehm
i always could convert any of those files, but a month ago my windows crashed real bad, i fixed it, 'cause it wouldn't boot, and i think the registry maybe damaged, everything else works now except converting some of those wmv or asf files...so ehm no, i never used a script 'cause i never had to used it before

Codecs should be found there :
www.codec-download.com Note: my advice about using a script has nothing to do with your current problem. Nothing should be done without a script (starting with resizing...) |
ehm
I installed one pack but it didn't help...anyone any suggestions ?
Maybe a registry error or some sort ? |
What pack ??? Do not use a pack.
On this site you can find directly the Microsoft codec 7, 8 and 9 (http://www.codec-download.com/module...ownload&sid=74) have you try with a script ? have you try to open the file in graphedit ? If nothing works then you have the choice between stopping using such sources or reinstalling your PC from scratch. Note: it seems you use this format since month. Why ? what do you try to convert ? It is worse than Divx ! |
after
after reinstalling the codecs, i cannot load avi's into tmpgenc anymore...what do i do now ???
|
Use a script or reinstall all your computer.
(you are in a situation where the more you do, the more your registry is screwed up. If I were you, all would have been reinstalled since weeks !) |
