before installing a series of programs for the conversion of format (WINAVI , etc.) it worked to me all.

after to have used them a little I have understood that they did not serve to nothing and therefore I have disinstallated them.

after to have made that:

when I use the script, tmpgenc he says to me that blindpp works in yv12 colorspace, for which in order making to work the script I must necessarily use the instruction

Code:
converttoyv12

1) in that way I can avoid that?
I have read that it is a problem of codec.
naturally I have disinstallated the codec divx and xvid and I have installs them again.
but this has not resolved me the problem.

I use directshowsource with file .wmv

2) Moreover I would want to know if with file .mpg I must use also directshowsource?

thanks.

What is the codec of your avi ? If it is divx 3.11 then that is normal. Only Divx 4 and over can be decoded in YV12 (at least, I never found a way to do this).

With mpeg1, yes. For mpeg2 sources it's far better to process them with dvd2avi, excactly as you do for the vob of a DVD.

If DivX5 is used as the decoder, you get YV12. I don't know if there's a colorspace conversion involved though.

Scuse me, perhaps I have not explained myself well.

If I have a mpeg2 file (es. xxx.mpg) and I want to process it with

avisynth, what I have to do exactly?

Process it just like you would process a DVD. Load the MPEG clip in DVD2AVI/DGIndex and save the project. You get the d2v project file and the audio track inside the MPEG file.

When I load the mpeg file in DGIndex i receive the following message:

"No start codes! Are you sure this is an MPG2 video stream?"

if I load .m2v or .mpv file it works.

Demux your mpeg2 (with tmpgenc) and open the m2v into dvd2avi (or dgindex) : don't you have the same error ? (I guess yes, and this is probably due to a corruption in your mpeg)
