how to do video Pulldown?

i've red a guide about encoding to kdvd - i have to do a pull down

quote:
" Because your videos have 23.976 fps and we need 29.97 for DVD, we need to convert using
pull down. In fact it just puts a flag so the DVD Player does this in real time. You will need to run
pull down on each movie. Example: pull down movie1.mpv movie1_pulldown.mpv."

can you help me understand how to do it actualy ?

Simply retrieve the tool DoPulldown there :
http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm

Load the 23.976 mpv and it will turned out into 29.970 called "pulled down".

You can also go on the doom9 forum and search for the new tool from Donal Graph called "DGPulldown", but I never tryied it.

I tired using this tool but each time it says I must load an elementary stream not a prog stream. I load thie mpg I make in mpg with sound at 44.1hz and again at 48hz and no sound and the same problem comes up. what can I do?

WOWIEGURL...
That means you can only use such a tool on an m2v file and not on an mpg file.
So do encode your video with tmpgenc and before you mux it with your audio, run the pulldown utility on the video encoded file.
Afterwards you can mux it with with IfoEdit/Muxman or even better DVDLab ;-).
Cheers

Note: you've been a member already since 2003 and you have already >300 posts. I thought it was time that you would know the meaning of "elementary stream" and "prog stream" and their differences...but apparently not...

... 1st time I did something with pulldown............

rds_correia 06-19-2005 09:38 AM

@WOWIEGURL,
I have never done a pulldown either (live in PAL land and have been lucky).
Puldown has nothing to do with elementary streams or program streams.
It's just that it can't be performed on program streams.
But, Ok then ;-)
