Hi knews2,

Try using the KVCD_LBR template. It uses CQ_VBR instead of CQ mode encoding, and that probably does a difference with the skipping. At least it does on some DVD players. You'll get the best possible quality at 352x240(28 with the LBR. If your movie is aroung 2 hours, increase the CQ_VBR to 30. If you want to fit your movie exactly on a CD-R, then use the file prediction formula: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1294
You may also try DVD2SVCD and automate everything.

I keep reading the best template is the LBR, but the 352x240 plus looks great when encoding a movie with subtitles from virtual dub...
I have a Panasonic DVD... Which template is the best for a 2 hour movie with the highest quality? I tried the LBR template with the video bitrate at 128 for the low and 2300 for the high and to me it just didn't look as good as the 352x240 plus template... also I started using fast to encode instead of higher or highest and the I don't notice any quality gain by using higher instead of fast...
any suggestions or tweaks ???
