HC-Qmatic

Notice: Q prediction is not working fine by now, doubt to how HC Encoder manage bitrate when used with cqmaxbitrate parameter. Use only for test until new notice.

Updated: v.1.1b - 3 decimal place precission, popup log, log in cmd window, rejig if oversize. You must to test it.
Despite precission is 3 decimal places, it seems that HCBatch *CQMAXBITRATE function does prediction a little bit hard.
I reach +/- 2% precission. You must to test it.

HC-Qmatic 1.1b mirror 1

HC-Qmatic permits you to load an avs script an encode it with HC Encoder in Q mode, doing previously some prediction encodings that will take about 10-12% of the whole movie. (OPV with prediction)
It uses the Incredible's slicer routine and a ping-pong prediction.
HC-Qmatic link you to other programs, often used when doing digital video encoding: DVDDecrypter, DVD2AVI, AC3 Delay Corrector (file step file or massive correction), BeSweet, SubRip, Calcumatic, etc.
Also permits you create a batchlist for video encoding, edit that list an encode it. With this more calcumatic, you can encode a 2 or 3 movies DVD backup.
You can do too, batchlist audio encoding in a special way.
At last, you can edit the avs file loaded in the internal filebrowser texbox, and the HC.ini file.
It has a Stop button to end all tasks in course (if you want to end all tasks, press that button, not press HC Encoder exit button.
At first run, you need to set paths to programs.
I recommend you Calcumatic as calculator, but you can to use anyone.
Unzip it in HCBatch*.exe folder (I used 0.14 version). It must to be there also a valid HC.ini file.
End precission, in my tests, is between 0 and 4 % (downsized) of difference, more times between 0-2 %. I did about 10 test encodes.
It works with Windows XP.

You need VB6 runtime routines only if you have not it yet and just in case tabctl32.ocx mirror 1 or tabctl32.ocx mirror 2.

Hi Pro,

Great work, thank you. I use Inc's slicer() routine for my prediction and it is excellent.

I am glad that you implemented this routing into your tool, can't wait to do some tests nice work. ;)

ESO! :)

Thats a nice shot Pro!

Great work Luis

I did an encode and result was -8 % file.
I should to check it. Well, for this is beta, isn't it?

Almost all my tools have some VB6 part and some batch file. But always I convert bat file in exe one. With this one, I can't to convert it to exe as it don't work fine.
But it works well anyway.

You could also apply an Long_short option to slicer in your appl.
So it will get even more precise.

1. Ping 5%
2. Pong 5%

3. Ping 2%
4. Pong 2%

5. Ping 2%
6. Ping 2%
7. Ping 2%
8. Ping 2%
9. Ping 2% ---- match! (math. difference to first Pong and to 5% Slicing included )

Sorry I don't understand.
With what match ping 9?
Could you do use numbers?

Now I'm fixing some bugs as some buttons not responding.
I'll post an update soon.

@Inc: Did you read my last question?

incredible 06-10-2005 12:43 PM

Yep, and I answered in the PingPong Thread ....

Prodater64 06-16-2005 09:23 AM

Updated v. 1.1b
It is still beta. You must to test it.

Hi Prodater,

Is HC Qmatic still available ?
I'm testing HC Enc, right now.
Thanks.

Edit : Nevermind, I've just dl ProCalc.
Thanks. :)

Hi,

is HC-Qmatic still available and/or under development?
Also ProCalc ASPA is not downloadable.

Is there any other tool for prediction?
Can someone give me a link?

I'm currently working on an HC-Matic completly different than Pro's one but don't expect it too soon unfortunally.
BTW, Pro is more often on Diko forums, perhaps you can find him there and ask him about where to DL his tools now.

Not really, i do spend similar time in both forums (few time in both :) ).

Do you want me to host it on kvcd.net ?

Woohooo! :D
Can you tell us what will be featuring HC-Matic?
Is it going to be the exact same principle of CQMatic?
What are you going to use? PureBasic?
Cheers

The idea is to combine KDVDCalc (the tool Vmesquita did a log time ago) CQMatic and Calcumatic in a single app, but using HC as encoder insteed of Tmpgenc. The goal is to be abble to predict for an episode DVD, or a disc with several movies, in a single operation.

But... I lost 3 days trying to build something from CQ/Calcumatic sources instead of from scratch. That was a bad idea and I just redoing all from the begining now.

Dialhot 01-03-2007 06:30 PM

Just to let you know that my tool (HCMatic) is working well. I just have to add a panel to set the parameters wanted for HC as for the moment everything is fixed in the tool and can't be changed (DC Prec, A/R, Max bitrate, GOP length...).

Here is a snapshot :
http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2007/01/1.png

You can see the prediction (still running) for an 8 ep KDVD. The value 1588 at the bottom is the average bitrate to reach, all audio are set to "224" as I plan to use 2 streams, 112kbit/s each. On the right there is the log with : Q value tested, avg obtained for each source at this Q and overall average, then new Q value...

I did 3 complete discs till now : one two movies DVD that reached 4.63 GB after authoring, one 1-movie that hit exactly 4.7 (:-)) and an 8-ep disc that was slightly oversized (4.79 GB). Stay tuned...
