Hi Guys,

I did a search on the forum and found very little info with regard to this Encoder.

I went to Canopus's site: http://www.canopus.us/US/products/Pr..._procoder2.asp

It looks really interesting and seems to take many different video type's of input and outputs also.

Am I right in saying though that ProCoder cannot have custom matrices? If it can't use the KVCD 'notch' matrix that is a shame as this look like a nice encoder.

Has anyone used this tool for DVD backups and what are the results have they had. I know DVD-RB can use this tool but I always use CCE.

Is CCE better than ProCoder 2?

Thanks in advance guys for any info you can give me on this tool.

Ah then that sucks.

Thanks Karl for your answer and for clearing that up for me.

I think that is a shame as I think this may have been a good encoder to use if it allowed custom matrices.

I'll stick with trusty old CCE for my Mpeg2 streams.

Just to tell that I patched manually (with ultra edit) my CCE binary to have KVCD-Notch matrix as its default values. This way I don't have to set manually a custom matrix each time.
This can be done easily in procoder also I think. Except if it is byte packed somehow.

I must have missed your post Phil, sorry.

That sounds great I wonder if it posible. I take it Ultra Edit is a Hex Editor?

Could the same be done with CCE SP Trial 2.67 so that I can patch that to use KVCD 'notch' matrix as the default matrix?

Are there any guides on how to do this?
