Overscan or letterbox?

Well ... I'm on my way to encoding my first manual KVCD (THANKS PHIL)
2 rookie questions still remain for me...
Is fullscreen better letterboxed or overscaned?
is widescreen better letterboxed or overscaned?
thanks in advance

Overscan is always better.

Use letterbox only if your source is already to the res you plan to use for target. In this case you will avoid a resize.
