Buenas and hello all,

I had been doing KVcd's in the past, and now I see KDVD's are out. Now I'm an 'ole boxing buff, and I have many old fights on VHS Tapes. My question is basically one that warrants, opinion. So here goes...

So to KDVD or to KVCD, that is the question; and if KDVD can I use tmpeg DVD or Nero to make Chapters btwn the fights?

On a KDVD you can plan to put 14 hours of video in VCD resolution (352x240) or 8 in 1/2DVD resolution (352x480).
It is not necessary to think about using upper resolution for a VHS capture.

About chapters : DVD are a lot more convenient than VCD on this. You will surely use an authoring software (tmpgenc dvd author or dvdlab pro) that will let you put each fight in a chapter and even make a selection menu.

I'm using ATI as my transfer median, and it created an extension .vcr. Does anyone know how I can convert this file to something more standard, that TMpgEnc can read?

I used the software that came with the ATI All in Wonder Videocard, and when it captured the video it pegged on .vcr as an extension...

vcr is the propriatary format of ATI video recoder.
I gave a quick look on their site and you should have a tool called "ATI Video Editor" that allows to convert vcr into avi.
