New KVCD script repository
 

Hey all,

With the ok from Kwag...I developed a spot on yahoo groups to house avs scripts and other settings to help everyone out. Here's the addy:

You must be a member of yahoo groups to access the files section. For those of you who aren't familiar with it...don't worry, it's free to join and you won't get any spam email from anywhere.

Go into the files area, I set up folders for each of Kwag's incredible templates. Click on the proper template and if the movie for your scripts isn't there, just create a new folder with the movie name and then upload your avs script with any other information regarding TMPGEnc settings or any other detailed instructions you wish to add in your file. Please don't create duplicate folders for movies, let's try and keep this sweet and simple. I've set this up for everyone to help everyone out. I figured many of you have gone through a lot of testing to achieve the best quality and file sizes possible so why should we all re-invent the wheel. Let's combine our efforts and make this dynamic for everyone.

If you wish to use the message forums there also, feel free, however there's probably more of a chance of getting better responses by sticking here with Kwag's forums. Any questions or comments please feel free to PM me!!

TMPGEnc:
- Video Stream Aspect Ratio: 16:9 525 Line NTSC
- Frame rate 23.976

- Video arrange: Center (Custom Size) 352x352

Result:
- Great quality video and audio
- Video size: 671,434
- Audio size: 111,806
- Perfect fit on 1 CD

That's a great idea! I've already joined to check it out. I've one question for you. I'm assuming you did 40 days and 40 nights. I've got a 16:9 source myself. When I use that template, my movie looks a little horizontally stretched. I see you used...

Was wondering if you chaptered using VCDeasy? I haven't ran a 352 X 352 through yet. Did you get errors if you did? I've had problems with VCDeasy complaining about my 480 X 480 vcd 2.0.

Maybe we could put the final muxed size at the end for people who might want to do something with any extra space.

Yep, I did chapter with VCD Easy and no complaints.

By using the center (custom size) 352x352, the TV stretched it back out with good results (doesn't appear to be stretched horizontally at all). As far as the final muxed size...we can put that in there, no problem!

Which template is the script for? Also what does telecide() do? Sometimes I use telecide() and decimate(cycle=5) to inverse telecine but have never tried telecide() by itself.

That script's for the 90 min plus template.

I read somewhere that telecide helps with interlacing issues. Don't know really, but when I tried it in my script, it appeared to help deliver a little cleaner picture!

Hi mickeymouse,

Telecide and Decimate are used on sources that have been telecined from 24fps to 30fps. Those functions are usefull on captures and material of such type. If the source is progressive 24fps, you don't use those functions at all.

To remove interlacing the best use the deinterlace (double) option under advanced in TMPGENC. That removes any interlacing. Works perfect for vcd or svcd or dvd. :wink:

Unfortunately, of the 93 members, no one except disneyware on 10/19/02 has contributed.

I've been looking to try out the KVCD templates to see if I could get 90 - 120 min on an 800MB CD, but, I tried to d/l the samples a few weeks ago, and again last night, and they're still

Forbidden!

If you, or anyone else reading this, has copies of all the samples, would you mind adding them to the corresponding script folders on Yahoo? I left a message for Kwag about this last night, but haven't gotten any reply yet...

Well, when I set that up initially...I thought that it would have been a good idea, but as you said..out of all of the members, I was the only person to put anything there and I just kinda lost the momentum with no other contributions!

Hey don't worry about it mickeymouse :). It's just that there's too much development going on here on a daily basis. Maybe in the "not so long" future, things will stabilize, and scripts can be standardized :D

This is a dead thread. Look on the "Optimal scripts" section of the forum, or on the AVI section for DivX related scripts.

Yeah, but the last ansver is from 7 months ago, so I've assumed that the templates exists. Sorry but after a few big problems with conquer my first KVCD with very good quality (as it evrybody writes), I'm grabing every post that could bee helpfull :oops:

Every script you need are on this forum. If you do not find one for a particular problem, just ask :-)
