Friends,

Been away for more than a year now I think and I'm a newby all over agin....

Can't get a .avi file (XVID with AC3) to play properly on my system. Playing it by opening it in Powerdvd results in an Explorer Crash. Also BSPlayer.....

Preview in Windows MediaPlayer (I know, it sucks) of my .avs file results in a "could not decompress file".

This probably means codec issues or not....? -> which coded do you recomend at this time (haven't made a KVCD in more than a year sorry...)..

YOu can safely use Xvid 1.1 and AC3Filter 1.01a.
But if your players crashes, this is mor generally due to something badly installed on your PC, not something that is missing.
In a lot of situation, the only choice is to reinstall windows.
