Hi bigbadmoshe, and welcome :)

In order to make a KDVD, you basically have to use a tool which suports the KVCD Notch matrix, like doing it with TMPGEnc, and a set of tools (guides on the main page at www.kvcd.net), or use a tool like DVDREasy (see the corresponding forum area here) which permits to encode a complete DVD (movie only) with a free encoder (HC) where you can select "KVCD" during the config options.
That's really one of the easiest ways to do a KDVD right now :D
For more control with filters and to obtain higher quality encoded material, you must learn AviSynth scripting (again, see appropiate sections in the forum) and learn to use tools such as "PARanoia" for creating correct resizing and aspect ratios, etc.

thanks for reply. well dvd rebuilder has KVCD_notch_matrix.mtx in it does that mean that the kdvd is there to. im sorry i dont know so much about this part of the dvd converting.

 See, that's how much (less!) I know about DVD Rebuilder :!:
If there's a Notch .mtx file in there, then it is supported.
Just make sure it's the latest matrix pattern, which you can verify here: http://www.kvcd.net/portal/articles.php?lng=en&pg=20
I can't give more feedback on this program, because I don't use it.
I make all my KDVDs the long way (which is really more natural to me :)
-> Decrypt->DVD2AVI/DGIndex->>PARanoia->AviSynth->Script->CQMatic->Encode :!: :D
That's really one of the ways to put 2 or 3 movies on a DVD, with hardly any difference in visual quality to the originals.
All other "one click", or semi-automatic programs can't do that (well you can, but with lower quality results), because you can't manually tweak and optimize each step of the process, as you can by using the individual tools.
If you still want to use DVD Rebuilder, by all means go ahead. I'm sure you'll get a quick reply here from a more experienced user with the program
But I'll have to pass on this one :)

hi bigbadmoshe, it's really very simple :D

Select the kvcd matrix as the "main feature" matrix. For low bitrate, extra's and so on, select "same as main feature". Set the GOP according to your country, PAL or NTSC. DC precision I recommend at 9.
You're now KDVD enabled 8)

PS 1: you can use the filter editor to use avisynth filters

PS 2: you can use Rb-opt to tweak other settings, such as the min/max bitrate. For kdvd, max of 5000 is sufficient.

Good luck!

You have to encode manually each movie and build the menu arround that using DVDLabPro for instance. Forget "all in one" tools for that, there is no one that handle multi-movie disc.

SO what you need is too learn how to encode a KVCD from a DVD in a format suitable for a DVDr. You will see some guides on the home page.
