TMPGEnc settings to CCE Settings ?
How do I set up CCE so that it comes to the same settings as TMPGEnc KDVD Full D1 template ?
I tried through the process of guess and check but ended up going in circles. I got close but the videos ended up jerky, where it goes smooth then Pixelates and goes back. Thanks. |

thanks, but I have one problem, that is I don't know how to set up the GOP settings.
also when I use 1 Pass VBR mode for a DVD it has an Input field for Quatinization factor, how does this affect the video ? really I don't know what to do with it.. also sorry for posting in the wrong place the first time. |
What version of CCE do you have ?
For the Q factor, the lower the value, the better is the quality. Generally it is not watchable above 30 (40 for some users). Of course, the lower the value, the bigger is the encoded file. It's like the CQ in tmpgenc except that it works at the opposite (the bigger the CQ, the better is the quality). |
Thanks for info about the Q.
But when I had it at 1 the quality was a little lower than the one from TMPGEnce then again its no big since it shaved off 1hour =) I use the latest version of CCE SP (2.70.02.04) All thats left for me to find out how to set up the GOP settings. http://www.digitalfaq.com/archives/i.../2006/01/1.png here an image of the menu where you set it up (I guess ?) |
I believe you can't change the GOP in CCE as high as we use in KVCDs (24) in TMPGEnc.
It'a a CCE limitation. -kwag |
ouch well can i get a setting for mabey 15 ? or maybe I should just go back to TMPEnc ? hmm
Thanks for all the help Ille do what I can. |
If you do KDVDs, the max GOP length is 18 frames for NTSC and 15 for PAL.

well yeah I know that, just I don't know how to put it in here like in TMPGenc its just plain says it in it's GOP settings.
The reason I wanna learn how to use CCE is becuase it is faster, I did at one point produce the same quality and size I got with TMPGenc but it was all jerky.. but I'm getting close thanks to all the help ive been getting. All I need now is get the GOP setting in and get it back to the same size as before (now its been getting too big..) |
CCE will produce better quality MPEG2 output than TMPGEnc.
If you do a pulldown from 23.976->29.97fps after encoding, you must use M=3, N/M=4 so you'll get 12-frame GOPs. Set the offset line value to 0. What is your source? |
