Pal kvcd - after ripping the black borders are smaller?

:( hello kvcd.net i am currently in the process of backing up a dvd to kvcd using 352x288pal template is there any "pal" guides on here as im new to this, also i had sucsess with my first kvcd everything went perfect but the one im doing just now the dvd is in anomorphic widescreen with big black borders and when i load it into tmpgenc after ripping the black borders have got smaller, i cant understand this

this is a basic guide on what im doing>>>
1st: rip the dvd with dvd decryter
2nd: convert the output to divx
3rd: load the divx file into tmpgenc 2.521x with the 352x288 template
4th: encode with the correct qc setting and audio and video both selected although i know im supposed to encode audio and video seperate.
5th: put the 754mb file through vcdeasy to make bin/cue

now i had sucsess with this procedure with my first encode
but my second encode when viewed on my dvd player has lost the big black lines and replaced them with small thin borders

thanks if anyone can help

Hi, welcome to the forum!

I don't know which guide you're using, but it sure isn't the right one :!:
Look at the main portal for guides.

Basically it boils down to this:

-rip the dvd
-create d2v file
-create script
-get resizing values using Fitcd
-encode video
-encode audio
-multiplex with mplex
-author

Never convert the dvd to divx first, you'll lose a LOT of quality by doing that.

wow stop the printing machines!
You don't need to convert from VOB to DIVX in order to make a KVCD.
Actually you should never attempt to make a KVCD out of a DIVX!
Just try to do it as gamma advised.
In the next couple of weeks I will try my best to create some..."interactive" newbie guides on how to make a KVCD or a KDVD in a manual approach as opposed to a one-click approach that you could find in DVDREasy.
But since your traget is KVCD you can't use DVDREasy.
Nevertheless keep trying, posting your results as well as posing questions to your doubts ;).
Cheers
