You can give some details at least :).

So : This is a new ripping wizard that lies on DVDDecrypter and FixVTS to automatically ripp a DVD using the PSL2 method.

I did not try as I have no DVD that is Arcos or Ripguard protected but it can be very usefull :).

I bought a movie called "Stealth" which has Arcos. RipIt4Me used
DVD Decripter to create a pls and successfully backed this up with
FixVTS and DVDShrink. Althought, DVDFab Decrypter can also do this,
RipIt4Me achieves the same now with DVD Decrypter and pls. I still use
DVDFab, but RipIt4Me steps you throught the process.

Hi BP,

Any real advantage of using this program, instead of just using DVDFab Decrypter :?:

DVDFab Decrypter may have problems with some discs (see http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....ht=psl2#123365) and the "PSL2" method is generally faster and better. Besides this, I'm not sure that DVDFabDecrypter restores the DVD structure as Ripit4Me does (with FixVTS) and without that some transcoding tools can choke (DVDShrink for instance).

DVDFab Decrypter does indeed cause some issues at times. The files it spits out are not always well-working when it decrypts an ARccOS protected disc. I'd feel much safer using this program if it really automates the process with DVD Decrypter, the PSL2 plugin and FixVTS.

Does the tool need to have the plugin installed? I don't think I have it yet.
(we are talking about the PGCEdit plugin, right ?)

I'm reading videohelp forum twice a day but I don't think just giving a link to a 2-pages thread (that I have personally already looked at five days ago) is the best way to share information.

Edit: BTW this thread does not answer to any question asked here.

Apparently the program does the same thing itself as the plugin. I couldn't check it earlier as the website was down but now that it's up again, it seems that there's no need for an external plugin. Which is a good thing :D

That's what I had understood also :)

Unfortunately I missed this thread in July.
And I was even following RipIt4Me first foot steps very closely.
I just tried latest RipIt4Me 1.4.14.0 AND DVDFab 3.0.0.1b9 and I just can't say any better of RipIt4Me.
Even because you can choose to rip Main Movie only - which is a new feature under DVDFab - but also now you can also choose the Audio and Subs that you want to rip.
It is truely amazing what this neat little GUI can do.
And there is NO need for the PGCEdit plugin or whatsoever.
You just need FixVTS.
And RipIt4Me even downloads FixVTS' latest release if you want to.
5 stars go out to RipIt4Me :P.
DVDFab is still terribly buggy and very slow IMHO but I may be biased .
Eventually it will properly rip your DVD but don't expect it to be anywhere near the speed achieved by DVDDecrypter :D.
Cheers

My only dawbacks concerning ripit4me is that they are so much and so often new release (each time I start it it proposes to dl a new release :)) that I can't tell if I can trust the backup I did with previous version :(.

rds_correia 09-24-2006 11:15 AM

Yep, but it's either DVDD or it is DVDFab.
All other methods are based on PGCEdit plugin (which is basically the same as RI4ME with a new dress).
Or you could pay for a couple of other tools that don't get so many updates which means that you could get stuck with a new encrypting scheme if you choose one of those :?.
Life sucks lool.
